She was a homemaker and mother, while helping her husband on the farm. She later worked as a para educator at Oskaloosa U.S.D. #341 in 1994 and 1995. She served as a 4-H leader for Jefferson County and as a 4-H judge for Jefferson and Douglas Counties. She was volunteer for Jefferson County Friends of Hospice for nine years. Barbara and Harold opened their house to many people in need. She was married to Harold L. Muiller on November 14, 1954 in Lawrence, he preceded her in death on June 11, 1999. Survivors include, one son, Steven (Tracie), Lawrence, four daughters, Debra (Tim), Pamela A. (Glenn), Labecca (Roger), Melissa M. (Miguel), one sister, Carolyn, 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary K. Kufahl.
