Description	:	September 12, 1969 - Carroll Daily Times Herald - Mrs. Barbara Mary Landon, 24, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Boje, Carroll, was killed in a one-car traffic accident on a county road northeast of Carroll early Friday. The accident happened at approximately 2:45 a.m. two miles north and a half mile east of Carroll, the sheriff's office said. Read More	September 12, 1969 - Carroll Daily Times Herald - Mrs. Barbara Mary Landon, 24, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Boje, Carroll, was killed in a one-car traffic accident on a county road northeast of Carroll early Friday. The accident happened at approximately 2:45 a.m. two miles north and a half mile east of Carroll, the sheriff's office said. It was the llth highway traffic fatality recorded in Carroll County in 1969. Mrs. Landon was alone in a westbound car that apparently went out of control and dropped off the south shoulder of the road. When the driver apparently got the car back on the roadway it overturned and rolled twice before coming to a stop. Mrs. Landon was thrown out of teo vehicle and suffered internal injuries when the car rolled over her. Dr. Roland B. Morrison, Carroll County medical examiner, returned a finding of accidental death. The accident was investigated by Sheriff John G. Longnecker and Deputy Sheriff Roger O'Tool. Mrs. Landon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Boje of Carroll, was born May 9, 1945, at Carroll and spent all of her life here. She graduated from Kuemper High School in 1963 and the same year was married to Thomas Landon. She was a member of St. Lawrence church. Surviving are two children, Michael, 5, and Sondra, 3; her parents; two sisters, Mrs. Hans (Beverly) Mayerhofer of Columbia, Mo., and Mrs. Robert (Linda) Arkfeld, Defiance; and two brothers, Bryon and Scott, both at home. Requiem high mass will be conducted for Mrs. Landon at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry B. Karhoff officiating. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Saturday. Rosaries will be recited at 8 a.m. and 8:45 p.m. Saturday, 3 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:45 p.m., Sunday. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
