Elm St. in Jefferson, died Saturday morning, March 21, 2015, at the Country Club Retirement Center where she had been a resident the past eight months. She was born Oct. 9, 1923, in Williamsfield Township, the daughter of J. Hillyer, age 91, former resident of S. Elm St. in Jefferson, died Saturday morning, March 21, 2015, at the Country Club Retirement Center where she had been a resident the past eight months. She was born Oct. 9, 1923, in Williamsfield Township, the daughter of J. Harry and Molly (Bridgeman) Davis and had been an Ashtabula County resident all of her life other than living in New England for 10 years. She was a graduate of Williamsfield High School. Barbara married Robert C. Hillyer on Nov. 30, 1946, at Williamsfield Congregational Church. Mrs. Hillyer worked for Coe-Layer Appraisal Co. in Trumbull County for many years, then the Jefferson License Bureau and the Ashtabula County Courthouse before retiring. She was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, traveling and watching the horses. Survivors include six nieces and nephews, Priscilla Fitori of Youngstown, Suzanne McPhee of Walnut Creek, Calif., Cynthia Goldcamp of Barrington, Ill., Greg Gay of Austintown and David and Rick Hillyer, both of Ashtabula. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob in 1998; a sister, Rosalie Gay; and brothers, Roland Woodford and Gerald Davis. Graveside Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, in Oakdale Cemetery, Jefferson, with the Rev. Dan Bilkert, of Jefferson United Methodist Church, officiating. No calling hours will be observed. Memorial contributions may be directed to Jefferson United Methodist Church, 125 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio 44047.
