Mrs. Lawton was born in Westfield, NJ, daughter of the late Rt. Rev. Arthur R. and Isabelle Van Dorn McKinstry. A graduate of the Tower Hill School and the University of Delaware, she was a member of the Junior League of Wilmington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul P. Mrs. Lawton was born in Westfield, NJ, daughter of the late Rt. Rev. Arthur R. and Isabelle Van Dorn McKinstry. (Jane) McKinstry of Wilmington, DE, and Arthur S. (Elaine) McKinstry of Lake Wales, FL, sister, Margaret M. (John) Maull of Exeter, NH, and her loving cat, Gretel. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 22nd, at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 15 E. Green Street, Middletown, DE. Interment will follow in St. Anne's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to your local humane society or to the Humane Society of the United States, Dept MEMIT9, 2100 L St. NW, Washington, DC 20037. Mrs. Lawton was a great cat lover but wanted all animals to have food and shelter.
