Married Antonia Komenda on August 7, 1881 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Lincoln, Nebr. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ulysses Dispatch (Ulysses, Nebr.), December 8, 1932, p. 3, col. 6 BARTHOLOMEW MAHONEY ANSWERS SUMMONS Bartholomew Mahoney was born in Ireland 86 years ago, and came to America, when 21 years of age going to Quincy, Illinois, where he was employed on the railroad, later, he went to Ottumwa, Iowa after which he moved to Lincoln, Nebr., where he helped build the railroad between there and Aurora, Nebraska. While at Lincoln, he was united in marriage to Miss Anthanette Kormandy. To this union were born 7 children, two, having preceded him in death, also the wife and mother who passed away at their home in Ulysses, 38 years ago, where they had made their home for a number of years, Mr. Mahoney having charge of the railroad here. For the past 20 years he had made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Nick Wiegardt at Denver, Colo., where he spent his declining years, and where on Wednesday Nov. 28th, he passed away. The body was brought to Ulysses, where funeral services were conducted at the Ulysses Catholic Church, with Father Loughran in charge. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery here. Mr. Mahoney leaves to mourn his demise, two daughters, Miss Mary Agnes Mahoney, and Mrs. Nick Wiegardt of Denver, Colorado, three sons, Will of Ulysses, John of Lincoln and George A. of Omaha, besides a number of other relatives and friends. _____ CARD OF THANKS To those friends and neighbors, who expressed their sympathy by word or deed, in our recent bereavement, we extend our sincere thanks.
