Tatman was born December 6, 1854 in Hawkins County, Ohio. When about ten years of age, he moved with his parents to Logan, Illinois. From here the family moved to Sac County, Iowa in 1878. Here Mr. Tatman met Miss Cora Boots who was destined to walk the remainder of life's journey with him and they were married on December 12, 1900. Being ambitious, they established their home in Burlington, Kansas, where they resided for nine years. In 1909 they returned to Sac County. Desirous of doing all that he could for the comfort and welfare of his family, he moved to the farm home northwest of Milford in the spring of 1920. Mr. Tatman came to his death very suddenly about 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, January 25, while he was busy about the affairs of the house. He had suffered sometime from the affects of heart trouble and although in apparently good health, succumbed to an attack while after an armful of wood. Some neighbors passing by saw him sitting on the ground with his faithful dog playing about him, but an effort to attract his attention received no response. Thinking nothing of this, they passed on and it was left to his faithful dumb friend to bring the word to Mrs. Tatman who did all that she could to revive the spark of life that still lingered when she reached him. Mr. Tatman is mourned by his widow and four children all of whom are at home. The children are Charles Thomas, Roy Adelbert, Orin Robert and Mary Alice. Mary Alice will graduate next spring from the Arnolds Park Consolidated school. The deceased was looking forward to her graduation with a great deal of enthusiasm, but God saw fit to snuff out his flame of life before he could witness this coveted pleasure. The funeral services were held in the Methodist Church in Milford on Saturday afternoon in charge of the pastor. The neighbors, Messrs, Will Leitch, John McCann, Frank Olson, Charles Ploss, Levi Rair and Albert Gottache tenderly rendered the last service within their power to their friend and neighbor as they carried his body to its last resting place. Mrs. Tatman's three brothers, Charles Boots and Frank Boots both of Nemaha and Samuel Boots of Early with Ed Fanning of Nemaha were in Attendance. - Card of Thanks - We desire to thank all our friends for their kindness and sympathy in our recent bereavement.
