CORA TATMAN PASSED AWAY THURSDAY NIGHT AT SPENCER HOSPITAL Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Federated church in Milford for Mrs. Cora Tatman with the Leyson Funeral Home in charge. Rev. J. C. Korthal preached the sermon and music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. L. B. Moreland, Mrs. W. G. Anderson, R. B. Nichol and Roland Hegg, who sang "No Night There" and Nearer My God To Thee." They were accompanied at the piano by Miss Margaret Lease. Casket bearers were Frank and Will Olson, Charles Ploss, Henry Langford and Will Greene of Milford and Frank Plymesser of Estherville. Arrangements of the flowers were in charge of Mrs. Ray B. Nichol and Mrs. Ina Snorf. Interment was in the Okoboji Cemetery beside her husband. Cora Boots, daughter of Thomas and Mary Boots, was born October 10, 1873, in Jones County, Iowa. She was the youngest child and only girl in a family of nine children. Today only one brother survives, namely John Boots of Early, Iowa. When Mrs. Tatman was eight years old the family moved to Buena Vista County and there she grew to womanhood and on December 12, 1900, she married Bartholomew R. Tatman. Immediately after the marriage they moved to Hartford, Kan., where they engaged in farming. In 1910 they moved to Sac County, Iowa, and in 1912 to Buena Vista County and in 1920 to Dickinson County where she has resided until her death. Mr. Tatman passed away at the farm home January 25, 1922. Four children were born to this union, namely Charles of Superior, Roy and Oren of Milford and Mrs. Alice Craig of Langdon, Iowa. After the death of Mr. Tatman she kept the home intact until the children married and started their own homes. Then she did such work as practical nursing and stayed with the children. She dearly loved her grandchildren and was always thinking what she could do to assist her children or neighbors. She was loved by her children and was lovingly cared for by them. The past year she has resided in an apartment at the Fred Schwidder home in Milford. Three years ago she went to Iowa City for examination and treatment. One year ago she returned to Iowa City for a major operation and never recovered her strength. Sunday, Dec. 1, she became very ill and was rushed to the Spencer hospital where she passed away Dec. 5, 1940. Mrs. Tatman was a member of the Methodist church and of the Lend A Hand Sunday School class. She is survived by three sons and a daughter, Charles of Superior, Roy and Oren of Milford and Alice, now Mrs. Lloyd Craig of Langdon, Iowa. There are 15 grandchildren: Jack, Junior and Patricia, the children of Charles; Ellsworth, Irvin and Elwin, sons of Roy; Dale, Darrell, Dean and Winona, Children of Oren, and Mrs. Craig has five, Marvin, Duane, Joan, Jeanette and Natillie. Mrs. Tatman is also survived by one niece and two nephews, Mrs. Harry Mooney, Arthur and Alva Boots, all of Nemaha, Iowa. Relatives and friend from out of town who attended the services were; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hatch, Bert and Roy Stenhouse, Floyd Fanning, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Scare, Mrs. Will Whitmore, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Robinson and son, Paul, Charles Miller, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Lemmertz, Mr. and Mrs. George Robinson and son and daughter, Wayne and Hazel, Mr. and Mrs. Alva Boots, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mooney and Mrs. Lou Boots, a sister-in-law, all from Nemaha. Others who attended were Mrs. Tatman's brother, John Boots of Early; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Balchtel of Lakefield, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. John Younker and son, Lloyd, of Jackson, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. John Schaffer, Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Tatman and Mrs. W.
