Description	:	Beatrice Arlene Scholl was born at Atlantic, Iowa, on September 7, 1920, the daughter of William Elmer and Dulcie Arlene Bills Scholl. She grew up in Cass County where she attended rural schools and Anita High School. Bea attended Drake University in Des Moines for four years and graduated with a degree in music in 1939. She was united in marriage to Wilbur Heckman Jr. at her parents' home in Adair County on May 16, 1942. Read More	Beatrice Arlene Scholl was born at Atlantic, Iowa, on September 7, 1920, the daughter of William Elmer and Dulcie Arlene Bills Scholl. She grew up in Cass County where she attended rural schools and Anita High School. Bea attended Drake University in Des Moines for four years and graduated with a degree in music in 1939. She was united in marriage to Wilbur Heckman Jr. at her parents' home in Adair County on May 16, 1942. She taught country school south of Adair while Wilbur was in the service, and they farmed after his return from service until 1972, at which time they moved to an acreage west of Fontanelle. Bea had worked at the Greenfield Manor for seventeen years as Activity Director. She was a member of Grand Temple #214 Pythian Sisters of Anita where she served as pianist for several years; was a member of American Legion Auxiliary #703 in Bridgewater; and a member of the United Methodist Church in Fontanelle. She had been a member of the Cumberland Rose Players, a theatrical group, for many years. Bea is survived by two sons, Mark Heckman and wife Rae of Cumberland, and Max Heckman and fiance Debbie Moore of Creston; a daughter-in-law, Kristy Heckman of Lamar, Missouri; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Alberta Lees and Iris Bailey, both of Anita; an uncle, Cecil Scholl of Coralville; nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; a son, Terry Heckman; a grandson, Jessie in infancy; and a brother, Virgil in infancy. Family and friends are invited to the Anita American Legion Hall following services at the cemetery
