She was born in Easton Township Sept. 17, 1917, the daughter of Herman and Violet Jenks Haney, and attended Haynor School. She graduated from Ionia High School in the Class of 1935. They made their home all their married life... Read More	Ionia Sentinel Standard, 17 Dec 1984 Beatrice E. Hawkins, 67, of Haynor Road, Ionia, died Sunday afternoon in Ionia County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Easton Township Sept. 17, 1917, the daughter of Herman and Violet Jenks Haney, and attended Haynor School. She graduated from Ionia High School in the Class of 1935. She worked at AC Sparkplug in Ionia during World War II and later was employed at Gibson’s in Greenville. She was married Aug. 21, 1940, in her parents’ home to Orville Hawkins. They made their home all their married life in Easton Township. A member of Stevens Thomson Mason Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she was the chapter’s recording secretary at the time of her death. She also had served as treasurer of the Haynor school district for several years. Surviving are her husband; three sons, Robert, Dale and Jack, all of Ionia; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Dianne) Dinehart of Ionia and Mrs. Dan (Mary Lou) Hopkins of Ionia; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are her mother, Violet Haney of San Francisco; and three brothers, Dale and Marvin Haney of Ionia and Melvin Haney of San Francisco. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Leddick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Easton Cemetery. The family will be at Leddick Funeral Home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial has been established for the Ionia County Unit of the American Cancer Society, in the care of the funeral home.
