She and her twin sister, Beulah, were born on July 21, 1916, to S. Wilson Freeman and Tempe Melissa (Russell) Freeman of Pleasant River. Beatrice was the last surviving member of that family. During her ninety years, she filled many roles. For 56 years, she was the wife of the late Rex Meister (New Ross)................. Most of her 32 years as a school teacher were spent in the schools of New Ross, where she also served as a long-time member of the Home and School Association. Throughout her life, her great love was her church work. During her long years of membership in the New Ross Baptist Church, she served on nearly every committee and, most notably, was a faithful Sunday school teacher and superintendent as well as youth group leader and choir member. Within the community she was a tireless volunteer worker and canvasser, and was the recipient of several awards and commendations in recognition of her service. Cremation has taken place under the direction of White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, February 23. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 24, in New Ross United Baptist Church, Rev. David Hine officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in New Ross United Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers from the immediate family only. Donations in memory may be made to New Ross United Baptist Church or The Arthritis Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
