Read More	Wednesday, May 19, 2004 The Halifax Herald Limited MEISTER, Rexford Ray - 92, New Ross, Lunenburg Co., died peacefully Monday, May 17, 2004, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in New Ross on January 10, 1912, he was a son of the late Harry and Lois (Fancy) Meister. During a long working life he operated a sawmill, was a farmer, logger and Christmas tree grower - one of the first in Lunenburg County to truck Christmas trees to the New England market. Involved in the life of the community, he served as secretary of the Board of School Trustees for over 35 years, and was active in the Christmas Tree Council. As a member of New Ross United Baptist Church he served as Deacon, trustee and chairman of the Cemetery Committee. He was also a long-time member of Norwood Lodge No. 135, A.F. and A.M., New Ross. Family was important to Rex. As the last surviving member of his family, he was predeceased by his parents and eight siblings. He is survived by ............... Visitation will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. Friday, May 21, with a Masonic Service to be held 6:30 p.m., both in W.C. Hiltz/White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, in New Ross United Baptist Church, New Ross, Pastor David Hine and Rev. Albert Marshall officiating. Burial will take place in New Ross United Baptist Church Cemetery. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to New Ross United Baptist Church or New Ross United Baptist Church Cemetery Committee. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to W.C. Hiltz/White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
