Daughter of Charles McKinley McIntosh and Malinda Hashman OBITUARY THE CHARITON LEADER Chariton, Iowa Tuesday, February 23, 1993 OWEN Beatrice Owen was born June 9, 1919 at Mercer, Mo., the daughter of Charles and Malinda (Hashman) McIntosh. She departed this life Feb. 9, 1993 at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon. She was 73 years and nine months of age. Beatrice was united in marriage to John Vernon Owen Sept. 19, 1937 in Chariton. To this union one son was born, Donald Lee. The Owen's made their home in Millerton. Beatrice was a homemaker and helped with the family business. She nurtured beautiful flowers and raised a large vegetable garden. She was a member of the Millerton Methodist Church. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents in 1972, her brother, Clifford McIntosh in 1973, and her sister, Helen Williams in 1973. She is survived by her loving husband, Vernon; son, Donald, of Urbandale; two sisters, Bernice Dyer, of Chariton and Norma (Richard) Clowes, of Moline, Ill.; two brothers, Joe McIntosh (Kathy), of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Kenneth McIntosh (Geri), of Moline, Ill.; brother-in-law, Mervin Williams, of Humeston; sister-in-law, Xemina Owen, of Black Canyon City, Ariz.; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12 at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Hotle officiating. Burial was in the Confidence Cemetery. Serving as bearers were Jim Cox, Richard Mason, Doug Spanning, Chuck Howieson, Gary Mulenburg and John Ambelang. Obituary courtesy of Darlene Arnold
