Beatrice was born to the John Townsend family at their home in Chelan, Sep. 8, 1907. Two years after her birth, the family moved back to Rack Haven, a pretty little spot on the shore of Lake Chelan, 16 miles up lake from the town of Chelan. Beatrice was born to the John Townsend family at their home in Chelan, Sep. 8, 1907. Two years after her birth, the family moved back to Rack Haven, a pretty little spot on the shore of Lake Chelan, 16 miles up lake from the town of Chelan. Beatrice was united in marriage to LaRue Barkley of Manson, Nov. 27, 1941, after which the couple made their home at Manson. Bea and LaRue met at a Pomona Grange meeting, and both of them have taken an active part in work of the Grange. She was preceded in death by her mother three years ago and by her father 2 months ago. She is survived by her husband, LaRue Barkley of Manson and by her brother, Charles R. Townsend of Lakeside. Also surviving her is a great host of friends who loved her because they knew her. Services for Mrs. Barkley were held Monday. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
