Description	:	Beaty was born on February 2, 1921, in Tama, Iowa, to Joseph Charles and Agnes Josephine Zhorne Krezek. She received her education in St. Mary's Catholic School and Tama Public School, graduating with the Class of 1938. She was employed for four years in the office of the J.H. Read More	Beaty was born on February 2, 1921, in Tama, Iowa, to Joseph Charles and Agnes Josephine Zhorne Krezek. She received her education in St. Mary's Catholic School and Tama Public School, graduating with the Class of 1938. She was employed for four years in the office of the J.H. Neil Creamery Company in Tama. On June 18, 1942, she was married to Edward J. 'Bud' Bru of Gilman at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama. The couple lived in Tama, where they owned and operated the International Harvester Company and Bru Electrical Service. In 1962, the family moved to Phoenix, AZ. Following their retirement, they wintered in Phoenix and summered near Gilman on the Bru family farm. Beaty's life was centered around her family. She was a hard worker and always kept a beautiful home and yard. Her children counted on her for love and wisdom and she was adored by her grandchildren. She was admired by her friends and valued her friendships. She and Bud did a lot of fishing together and she was an expert fish cleaner. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Grinnell, St. Thomas Church and Our Lady of the Assumption Sodality of Phoenix, the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Tama and the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries of Tama. Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara (Bill) Dietrich of Tucson, AZ and Betty Bru Clayton of Phoenix, AZ, who loved and cared for her during her courageous battle with cancer; one son, Bryan Bru of Winslow, AZ; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and one sister, Hilda Lenhart [FAG #69637084] and brother-in-law, John Lenhart of Iowa City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bud on Nov. 3, 1977; one brother, Leon Kesl [FAG#69224323] ; and one sister, Emily Custer. Smith Funeral Homes, Grinnell, Iowa.
