Born in Hampton, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Millidge and Annie Lucretia (Campbell) Lawrence. Beatrice was a loving wife and mother who devoted her life to providing support and care for her children. For many years she enjoyed camping and was a member of the Bluenose Campers, N.C.H.A. Later at the cottage at Little Musha Mush, she hosted many happy weekends with family and friends. She was a long-standing member of the Eastern Star, holding many offices, including Worthy Matron of the T.D. Maybe Chapter. She enjoyed hobbies such as sewing, knitting, crocheting and doing the weekly Lexicon. Bea was a member of St. Paul's United Church, Spryfield, and a lifetime member of the United Church Women. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Rodney; daughters, Deborah (Danny) Borgal, Bedford; Barbara (Barry) Abbott, Halifax; son, Dr. Douglas (Christina) LeGay, Halifax; sister, Jennie (Neil) Christensen, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Matthew (Rebecca) and Kimberley Borgal, Patrick, Rodney, Elizabeth, Christina and William LeGay, and great-grandchild, Ryalee Borgal. She was predeceased by half-brothers, Walter, William, Millidge; half-sisters, Josepha, Helen, Edith, and Mildred. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, in St. Paul's United Church, 173 Old Sambro Rd., Halifax, Rev. Calvin Ginn officiating.
