Read More	LeGAY, Rodney Henry Stephen - 91, Halifax, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2014, in Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building. Born in New Cumberland, Lunenburg Co., March 6, 1923, he was a son of the late Ralph and Iona (Wamback) LeGay. Rodney enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1943 and served with the Prince Edward Island Highlanders. During World War II he served overseas in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. Following his discharge from service in 1946, Rodney furthered his education and attended a training course in Architectural Drawing and Building Construction at the Canadian Vocational Training Centre, Halifax, N.S.. This began his 40 year career as a construction superintendent during which he supervised the construction of many buildings throughout the Nova Scotia including: MacNally Building, Saint Mary's College; shore work on the entrance to the MacDonald Bridge; Science Building, SFX University; Sidney Stephen High School, Bedford: Saraguay Club; Sacred Heart Convent extension; Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church; Assisi Hall & Rosaria Student Centre, MSVU; Dartmouth High School extension; Queen Elizabeth High School addition; Halifax Law Court; Hants County Regional Hospital, Windsor; Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow; World Trade & Convention Centre; and Gladstone Medical Centre to name a few. Rodney was a loving husband and father. For many years he enjoyed camping, he built two travel trailers, and was a member of the Bluenose Chapter of the N.C.H.A. In 1976 he built a cottage at Little Mush a Mush, Lunenburg Co., where he spent many happy times with family and friends. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for almost 59 years and held many positions, including Master of the Duke of Kent Lodge in 1967. In recent years he was a member of the Fairview Lodge. He was also a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. Rodney's greatest hobbies were building things in his workshop/garage. He also enjoyed his "toys", which included power boats, ATVs, snow mobiles, a motorcycle (at age 70), an ice boat and in later years his ride on lawn mower and scooter. After his retirement he developed an interest in computers which he used for his new hobby of geneology. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah (Danny) Borgal, Bedford, Barbara (Barry) Abbott, Halifax; son, Dr. Douglas (Christina) LeGay, Halifax; sisters, Hazel (Martin) Hebb, Wileville, Mona (Joe) Litman, Toronto; grandchildren, Matthew (Rebecca) Borgal, Kimberley (Andrew) Carver; Patrick (Meara), Rodney (Helen), Elizabeth, Christina and William LeGay; and great-grandchildren, Ryalee, Rowan, Calvin, Keira and Henry; sister-in-law, Jennie, Dartmouth; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Beatrice. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday April 8 at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday April 9, in St. Paul's United Church, 173 Old Sambro Rd., Halifax, Rev. Jeanne Manning-Stright officiating.
