About a year ago Mrs. Post was taken with this severe form of Heart trouble. A trip to Albuquerque, MN which the family made last fall brought her no relief and since that time she had been cared for at her home. Read More	Feb 15, 1937 - Carroll Daily Herald - Mrs. J.H. Post, well-known Carroll resident, passed away of chronic aoritis at her home on North Adams street at 3:25 o'clock Monday morning. About a year ago Mrs. Post was taken with this severe form of Heart trouble. A trip to Albuquerque, MN which the family made last fall brought her no relief and since that time she had been cared for at her home. Intermittenly she suffered heart attacks, following which she was able to be about her home although she could not exert herself in any way. Since Christmas her condition had become worse and sinct last thursday she had been confined to bed. About 9 o'clock Sundy night, she was again stricken, suffering intensely for a time, after which she went to sleep and died without awakening. The body will be returned Monday evening from the Huffman funeral home to the family home on North Adams street, where it will remain until just before the services. Rites will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Huffman funeral home. The Rev William R Yingling, pastor of the First Presbyterina church, will officiate and the Eastern star service will be given. Burial will be in the Carroll cemetery. Mrs Post was born Belle Kathryn Burwell, daughter of Mr and Mrs W.H. Burwell, at Lost Nation, IA on Feb 17, 1877. Had she lived until Wednesday she would have been 60 years old. she was a small child when her parents moved to Story county, near Nevada. Subsequently, they came to Carroll county to live on a farm near Templeton and she attended shcool in that district. The family later came to Carroll, where she was living at the time of her marriage to J.H. Post, which took place in Carroll on June 21, 1893. Mr Post, who afterward served as postmaster here for many years, was in the employ of the Carroll Herald at the time of their marriage. Mr and Mrs Post's first home was on the present site of the Roosevelt apartments on North Adams street. For the last 43 years they have lived at their home at 1216 North Adams street. Mrs Post was a staunch member of the Baptist church as long as it existed in Carroll. She later transferred her membership to the First Presbyterian church. Survivors include her widower, one daughter, Mrs M.M. McCullough (Verda) of Carroll; one sister, Mrs Amy Lilyard of Cedar Rapids. Mrs Lilyard arrived here Sunday night and was with Mrs. Post when she passed away. Mrs Post was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
