Description	:	Benjamin Franklin Streeter, the fifth child of Mr. and Mrs. H. K. Streeter, was born at Muscotah, Kan., April 23, 1883. The Streeter family moved to Holton six years later, Ben, as everybody called him, attended the schools of this community. He was employed by the Perkins Meat Market for a period of about fifteen years .... At the age of twenty-eight, sought larger opportunities in the business world. Ben was employed by the Rock Island R. R. Co. at Dalhart, Texas, later moving to Hutchison, Kan. He was united in marriage to Miss Susie Hill of Hutchison, October 11, 1915.... About two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Streeter moved to Des Moines, Iowa. Since that time he has held the position of foreman of the freight house for the Des Moines Union Ry. Co. .... there were between forty and fifty men under Ben’s foremanship .... Stricken with pneumonia only nine days ago .... passed away last Saturday morning in the Iowa Lutheran hospital at Des Moines .... The deceased was 35 years, 6 months and 27 days old ... left to mourn the passing of Ben Streeter, his widow, who was deprived of being present today because of sickness, his parents, five sisters, Mrs. E. G. Brown, Holton, Mrs. H. M. Sullivan, of Des Moines, Mrs. J. S. Streeter of Wahpeton N. D., Mrs. L. A. Cleveland of St. Joseph, Verna Streeter of Holton, and Hattie M., who preceded him to the Great Beyond, 22 years ago. There are four brothers, William F., of Princeton, Kan., Arthur C., of Argentine, Kan., Lloyd E., of Marcelene, Mo., and Ralph F. Streeter of Holton .... Mrs. H. E. Hill, the mother of Mrs. Ben Streeter, is here from Hutchison .... Burial was made in the Holton cemetery. The out of town relatives in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Streeter of Atchison; Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Streeter, of Horton; Mrs. Roy Fisk, of Soldier; Mrs. Lloyd Petree of Horton; Mrs. Roy Stewart, of Horton.
