Description	:	Frank was married to his cousin Mary Catharine Miller on October 6, 1870, in LaPorte, IN. The picture on this memorial is of Frank and Mary, and it was scanned from the original tin-type. Frank's estate and will are on file with the Clerk of Court in LaPorte, IN. On a life insurance application that Frank's son Jacob completed in 1924, he stated that his father died as a result of his chest being crushed by a horse falling on it. Obituary from, "The Ottumwa Weekly Courier," July 16, 1879: DIED.-In Dahlonega township this morning, about six o'clock, Franklin Miller, in the 30th year of his age. The funeral will take place at the residence of his mother, Mrs. Caleb Miller, to-morrow, at 2 o'clock p.m. The friends of the family are invited to attend without further notice. He will be buried immediately after the service at the Round Point burying ground. Franklin Miller lived when at home in Laporte County, Ind., and left that place for the west in the hope of benefitting his health, and had been at the residence of his mother for about two months previous to his death. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn his early demise. One of the pictures of Frank's stone that I have posted is how it looks today. The other picture was taken in the early 1900s by Frank's son Jake Miller, and it shows the decorative urn on top that has disappeared.
