Clara Belle, daughter of Caleb E. and Mary Bedell Miller was born March 23, 1859 in Wapello County, Iowa. She was the youngest of six children of whom one alone Mrs. Kate Long survives. On March 3, 1878, she was married to W.H. Dimmitt, and to this union were born three children, Norman, Irene, and Ernest all of whom are living. After a lingering illness of almost eight months she passed away December 22, 1910, at the age of 51 years, 8 months, and 29 days. Mrs. Dimmitt was converted when about sixteen years old and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church which faith she earnestly cherished to the time of her death. All who knew her are confident or her abundant entrance into God's eternal rest. The funeral services were held at the home Saturday December 24, and were conducted by Rev. T.G. Pettit, of Mt. Pleasant, a former pastor of the family. Interment was made in the Ottumwa Cemetery.
