Description	:	Benjamin James Weideman, 91, formerly of Miller, died and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 15th, 2014, the same day his greatgrandson, Traven James Weideman, was born to his grandson, Thomas James (TJ), and Misty Weideman. Funeral services were Friday, August 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller. Burial was at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miller. Benjamin was born on February 25th, 1923 to his parents, Henry and Catherine (Bahr) Weideman. Ben graduated from Orient High School and he joined the Navy in 1943, and was honorably discharged on November 1945. Ben was married to Ida Schock on January 24th, 1945. They made their home in Miller, SD, where Ben was a Mason for many years, before joining his wife and establishing their family business, Ida?s Beauty Salon. Ben and Ida were married for nearly 70 years, and they were blessed with two sons, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Ben graduated from Orient High School and he joined the Navy in 1943, and was honorably discharged on November 1945. Ben was married to Ida Schock on January 24th, 1945. They made their home in Miller, SD, where Ben was a Mason for many years, before joining his wife and establishing their family business, Ida’s Beauty Salon. Ben and Ida were married for nearly 70 years, and they were blessed with two sons, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Ben’s hobbies were camping, fishing and watching and listening for trains. Ben loved nothing more than spending time with his family, and visiting and playing cards with friends. Ben loved telling stories about his childhood when he spend time snaring gophers and selling their tails to buy a 22 Rifle. He also enjoyed talking about raising rabbits with his older brother John. One of Ben’s greatest attributes was his willingness to hug people, and to tell them that he loved them. He loved to talk to people, and he was a wonderful care provider. He was a very nurturing and caring husband, father, and grandfather. Ben is survived by his loving wife Ida, his sons Tom (Paula), and Jerry (Nita), his grandchildren, Jade (Steph) Weideman, Tessa Dosch, TJ (Misty) Weideman, Ashley (Derek) Henry, Katie (Nate) Britt, Whitney (Josh) Henry, Taylor Weideman, Mitchell Weideman, Brekk Weideman, and his great grandchildren, Zachary Weideman, Ryker Weideman, Lilly Weideman, Taven Weideman, Joshua Henry, Brett Henry and Jonathon. Ben was preceded in death by his daughter, Candace Weideman, his parents, and all of his siblings.
