Description	:	Military - 112 ILL Vol. Inf. B.P. SCOVILL B.P. Scovill, a pioneer settler and veteran of the Civil War, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clint Hoskin, at Redfield, Friday, June 29th, at the age of 80 years. Mr. Scovill had lived at his home in St. Lawrence until Sunday prior to his death when he was taken to Redfield. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church in St. Lawrence, Tuesday afternoon, Rev. W.A. Johnson in charge, and interment made in the St. Lawrence cemetery. OBITUARY Benjamin Polaski Scovill was born in Fulton County, Ill., October 30, 1843, and died June 29, 1923. In 1853 he moved to Henry County, Ill. where he enlisted in the Civil war Sept. 1863, and served throughout the war. He was united in marriage to Louisa A. Scovill July 4, 1868. Two children were born to this union, Florence A., and Julius Benjamin, who lived but seven short years. In 1881 he came to St. Lawrence and has resided near here since that time. Two sisters, two brothers, one daughter, four grandchildren and one great grand-daughter, together with his wife are left to mourn his passing. Servant of God well done!
