Description	:	Benjamin Quick was the son of David Quick a Revolutionary War patriot, and Anna Jennings, who was supposed to have been the granddaughter of Solomon Jennings the Indian Walker whose wife was native American. From the History of Ashland County, Ohio, 1880, page 283, this is written: "BENJAMIN QUICK, born in Bedford county, Pennsylvania, in 1793, came to Ohio in 1812, and first settled in what was then Wayne county, but is now a part of Holmes county, and is called Washington township. He settled in Ashland county in 1839. He was a wagonmaker by trade, and worked at his... He first married Clarissa Priest on 26 Dec 1816, and they are thought to have had seven known children; David Quick Harriet Quick b.1817, d. 1895 Daniel C. Quick b. 1819, d. 1889 Aaron Nelson Quick b. 1824, d. 1907 Cornelius Quick b.1826, died 1875 Benjamin Quick b. 1828, d. 1915 Olive Quick b. abt.1830, d. His wife Clarrisa died in 1831. I am sure it is no coincidence that the monolith headstones of the Quicks and the Priests are located side by side overlooking the valley in the Loudonville Cemetery. Benjamin reamarried Susan Clough before the birth ofhis son Isaac in 1832. Benjamin and Susan had the following known children; Isaac C. Quick b. 1832, d. 1917 Clarissa Quick, b. about 1835, William Quick b. abt. 1837, d. 1881 Francis Marion Quick b. abt. 1838, d. 1862 Thomas J. Quick b. abt. 1840, d. 1894 Benjamin Quick died about 26 Nov 1840, in what is now Ashland Co. Ohio. Some of his living sons spread across the west as pioneers, heading to California as early as 1849, and a few lived to make a mark where they settled. The tools listed in the inventory of Benjamin's estate would make my father proud to be a descendant of this man. Me too......Tom M. Short II 3G grandson.
