Description	:	Benjamine Rightmire died at his residence, in Hardin County, Ohio, on the 29th day of August, 1860, aged 52 years, 5 months, and 16 days. He first got hurt by a fall from a wagon, some two months ago, and about four weeks ago it turned to typhoid fever, which caused his death. Read More	Benjamine Rightmire died at his residence, in Hardin County, Ohio, on the 29th day of August, 1860, aged 52 years, 5 months, and 16 days. Brother Rightmire embraced religion something like fifteen years ago: was taken into the United Brethern Church by Rev. William Miller, and he lived a consistent Christian until his death. Brother Miller says he met brother Rightmire very often during the last fifteen years, at home and abroad, and always found him in the enjoyment of a living faith, ready at all times to bear the cross as a follower of Jesus. I myself had been acquainted with him for six years past, and what I found him at first, he was at death - still in the enjoyment of religion. I looked upon him as a father to me: I loved him as such: and I would say with his companion and children, I have lost a kind friend: but thank God, our loss is his gain. A few days before his death, I visited him, and asked him if he felt willing to die, If God should take him away in this affliction. "O yes, brother MC' said he, 'I am willing to go, if it be the Lord's will. I have a hope which reaches to the glorious world above. O! my peace if made with God: I feel I have a home in heaven.' Brother Rightmire left a wife, two sons, and three daughters, to mourn the loss of a kind husband and father. God grant that they may all be faithful followers of Christ, so that as they fall one by one, they may meet their father and companion in heaven. The services were attended by Brother William Miller and myself. A discourse was preached by Brother Miller, from Matt. XXIV: 44 -'Therefore, be ye also ready, for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man cometh. Not for the pious dead we weep, Their sorrows now are o'er: The sea is calm, the tempest past, on that eternal shore. But all, before they hence remove, May mansions for themselves prepare In that eternal House above, and O! my God, shall I be there? O for an overcoming faith, To cheer my dying hours, To triumph o'er approaching Death, And all his frightful powers.' J. C.
