Description	:	Martha Holt was born in Maryland, probably in or near Cecil Co. It appears that her father was in Cecil Co. in 1813 a couple of years before Martha was born. Martha is probably with her parents in the 1820 census, most likely they are in Maryland. However, the 1820 Maryland census index on Ancestry.com does not list any Joseph Holt. In the 1830 census it appears Martha is with her parents who are with their son, Isaac Holt (Head of Household), in Hardin Co., Ohio. We do not know a lot about Martha's life. ... Read More	Martha Holt was born in Maryland, probably in or near Cecil Co. It appears that her father was in Cecil Co. in 1813 a couple of years before Martha was born. Martha is probably with her parents in the 1820 census, most likely they are in Maryland. However, the 1820 Maryland census index on Ancestry.com does not list any Joseph Holt. In the 1830 census it appears Martha is with her parents who are with their son, Isaac Holt (Head of Household), in Hardin Co., Ohio. We do not know a lot about Martha's life. The History of Hardin County states that Benjamin and Martha Rightmire moved from Morgan County in eastern Ohio to Hardin County in about 1834. However, this is unlikely because 1) their December 12, 1833, marriage was in Cochocton County, OH, and --at that time-- 2) Benjamin's parents lived just west in Knox County, Ohio, and 3) Martha's parents were in Hardin Co, Ohio. On December 25, 1833, within days after his marriage on December 12, 1833, Benjamin received 80 acres from the Delaware Land District in Hardin County. (This land he sold to an Isaac Gray on March 24 1837.) By the time of the 1840 Federal census, Benjamin and Martha are in McDonald Township, Hardin Co., OH. Benjamin and Martha had seven children: William, born 6 Sep 1834; Nancy born 1835, died 9 Apr 1836; Harrison, born Feb 1839, Mary, born about 1841; Elizabeth born 18 Sep 1843 died 26 Sep 1858; Martha, born 20 Aug 1844; and Sarah Jane, born 14 Aug 1846.
