Carmichael, 71, warehouseman and farmer of Mullins, died suddenly at his home near here this morning following a heart attack. Funeral arrangements had not been completed tonight but will probably be held sometime Sunday. Mr. Carmichael is survived by his widow, who was formerly Miss Maggie Williams; four sons, Claude Carmichael, superintendent of the Nichols schools, Forest Carmichael, superintendent of the Latta schools, Ernest Carmichael of Avon Park, Fla. and Herbert Carmichael of Mullins; and one daughter, Mrs. E. F. Cox of Tabor, N.C. Mrs. Cox is in Chicago visiting the World's Fair and at a late hour last night had not been reached to be notified of her fathers death. Mr. Carmichael was a brother-in-law of J. R. Williams and D. W. Williams, both of Mullins. Published in The State, October 1933
