Paul (Jeanette) Tobiason, Colfax, Wisconsin, Glenn (Barbara) Tobiason and David (Teresa) Tobiason, both of Scotch Grove, 8 Grandchildren, Jennifer (Blake) Insteness, Sarah (Glen) Hanson, Anna Tobiason, Kimberly (Ryan) Shea, Kyle (Melinda Gutzeit) Tobiason, Jon Tobiason, Suzanne Tobiason, Bailey Gray and 6 great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, a brother Lawrence Schafer and her husband Bennie. Berdena Schafer was born July 9, 1917 near Langworthy, Iowa. She was the daughter of Henry and Anna Gerdes, Schafer. She attended the Frog Hollow School near Langworthy and Scotch Grove Township School #9. Berdena Schafer and Bennie Tobiason were married December 27, 1939 at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in Scotch Grove Township until 1972 when they moved to Monticello. After they moved to town, Berdena worked at Shannon School in the Hot Lunch Program and also at the Senior Home. Bennie preceded her in death on February 18, 1996. Berdena was a life long member of Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. She was baptized on August 5, 1917 and confirmed her faith on April 9, 1933. She had been active in the Harvest Festival, the Quilting Group, and Bible Study. She also enjoyed needle work, crocheting, volunteering at Camp Courageous and going to Darrell's for coffee.
