Read More	OBITUARY -- RAMSEY Bernard Curtis Ramsey, son of Curtis and Lenora Mae Ramsey, was born near Valley Falls, Kansas on February 6, 1922 and departed this life September 20, 1946 at the Winter General Hospital in Topeka, Kansas after a brief illness with poliomyelitis. As he grew to manhood, he attended the Methodist church and he attended the Valley Falls grade and high schools. On October 6, 1942, he entered military service and served until December 1, 1945 with the 389th Medical Corps as a Technician 5th Grade. Of that time he spent two years and seven months overseas in the Mediterranean and European theaters, and wore four bronze service stars and one bronze arrowhead. On August 31, 1946, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Gray and their home was in Topeka for the very brief period of twenty days. He was employed by Alexander Baking Co., in Topeka and was a member of the Grahem-Herbers Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 3084 of Valley Falls. His mother preceded him in death in March 1942. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca; his father, Curtis Ramsey; two brothers, Kenneth and Robert; his grandmother, Mrs. Chas. Baker; great grandfather E. A. Hosler; other relatives and many friends. Private funeral services were held at the Hagge Funeral Home Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Victor Trower of Kansas City, Kansas, with Mrs. Lou Hauck singing "The Old Rugged Cross." Mrs. Hagge accompanist. Military rites were observed at the graveside by members of the V.F.V. Post, and Mrs. Hauck sang "Going Down the Valley." Pallbearers were Jack Lassiter,Willard Dunn, Howard Gier, Russell Miller, Harvey Counts and Fred Koons. Burial was in the Valley Falls cemetery. __________ We wish to express our sincere thanks for the many acts of kindness and expressions of sympathy, especially the many beautiful floral offerings.
