Description	:	Funeral services for Bernard E. "Lit" Thomas, Sr. will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the Church of Christ, Arlington, with the Rev. Scott Hall officiating. Burial will be in Taylorsville Cemetery, Arlington, with military graveside rites by the Arlington American Legion Dean Harkin Post 2l9. Mr. Thomas, 76, died Oct. 13, at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Iowa City, after a short illness. He was born April 28, 1919, in Randalia, the son of Edwin and Gracia (Vogelsang) Thomas. Mr. Thomas, 76, died Oct. 13, at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Iowa City, after a short illness. He was born April 28, 1919, in Randalia, the son of Edwin and Gracia (Vogelsang) Thomas. He graduated form Arlington High School in 1938, and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He had worked at the John Deere Tractor Works and Chamberlain Manufacturing, both in Waterloo. A longtime Arlington resident, Mr. Thomas was a member of the Arlington Church of Christ; V.F.W. and Arlington American Legion Dean Harkin Post #219; and the Broad Mountain Chapter 159th Combat Engineer Battalion. Survivors include three sons, Bernard Thomas, Jr., Larry Thomas, and Dan Thomas and 10 grandchildren.
