Description	:	Edwin Asher Thomas, son of Esther Hewitt and Edgar Thomas, was born near Scottsville, Kans., Feb. 1, 1882. At the age of six weeks he went with his parents to Cattaraugus County, New York, where he lived for eight years when his parents again started for the west in a covered wagon, their destination being Hull, Neb, but this side of Des Moines the party received word to proceed no farther as hail had destroyed the crops where they expected to settle so the family moved four and one-half miles northeast of Maynard where Mr. Thomas grew to manhood. He... Read More	Edwin Asher Thomas, son of Esther Hewitt and Edgar Thomas, was born near Scottsville, Kans., Feb. 1, 1882. He was married to Gracia Belle Vogelsang Sept. 1, 1907. To this union were born eight children, three of whom died at birth and two sons, Erwin Henry and Frank Asher were drowned on May 19, 1935. He was also preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife and three children, Ethan of Nacks Creek, Mo., Esther Hackett of Rolls, Mo., and Bernard Thomas, Oelwein, Ia. Burial was in Taylorville cemetery.
