He died Thursday at the Missouri City/Fort Bend Community Hospital following failing health for the past year. McCord was a self-employed insurance claims adjuster. He was born and raised in Dunlap and had lived in Council Bluffs, Omaha and Glenwood, and had lived near Houston the past six years. Read More	OPINION-TRIBUNE, GLENWOOD,IOWA DATED WEDNESDAY, JULY 10, 1985 Services were Monday in Glenwood for Bernard J. "Bud" McCord, of Missouri City, Texas. He died Thursday at the Missouri City/Fort Bend Community Hospital following failing health for the past year. McCord was a self-employed insurance claims adjuster. He was born and raised in Dunlap and had lived in Council Bluffs, Omaha and Glenwood, and had lived near Houston the past six years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Glenwood and was a World War II and Korean Air Force Veteran. Survivors include three sons, Jack with the U. S. Army at Fort Benning, Ga., Rick of Missouri City and Pat of Hortense, Ga.; one daughter, Jill Hagermeier of Beatrice, Neb.; two brothers, Raymond of Houston and Oscar of Glenwood; five sisters, Jean Johnson, Mina Usher and Shirley McCord, all of Glenwood, Wanda Jones of Blue Springs, Mo. and Becky Schmidt of Tekamah, Neb.; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services were at Raynor Funeral Home with the Rev. E. E. Basye interim pastor at First Christian Church, oficiating. Interment and graveside military services were at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap. Military rites were performed by the Iowa National Guard unit of Glenwood and members of the Glenwood American Legion and VFW Clubs. Military taps were by Pat Dougherty of Dunlap and the flag presentation was by Jack Cowardin and Artie Evans. Music was provided by John Clipson, soloist, and Ardis Dusenberry, organist. Casket bearers were Robert Shumake, Robert Bolton, Wes Hunt, Gary Baker, Lyle Alley and Chris Broyles.
