Description	:	Bernice Beatrice Regelin, 92 years of age, of Holdrege (formerly of Loomis, Nebraska) passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at her Chrisoma West residence at Holdrege. Bernice was born February 27, 1919 at Aurora, Nebraska, the youngest of five children born to John F. and Mary W. (Collett) Bremer. Bernice received her primary education from a rural school in Hamilton County, Nebraska through the eighth grade and then graduated from Aurora High School with the class of 1936. Read More	Bernice Beatrice Regelin, 92 years of age, of Holdrege (formerly of Loomis, Nebraska) passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at her Chrisoma West residence at Holdrege. Bernice was born February 27, 1919 at Aurora, Nebraska, the youngest of five children born to John F. and Mary W. (Collett) Bremer. Bernice received her primary education from a rural school in Hamilton County, Nebraska through the eighth grade and then graduated from Aurora High School with the class of 1936. Following graduation from high school she worked for the A.S.C.S. office in Franklin, Nebraska and then Holdrege. Bernice was united in marriage to Louis "Charles" Regelin at the Presbyterian Church in Aurora. To this union five children were born: Gary, Wayne, Janice, James and Jeanie. The family made their home on a farm south of Loomis in Phelps County, where Charles and Bernice engaged in farming for over fifty years. Besides supporting her husband, Charles with the farm, Bernice devoted her time and effort raising their five children and loved living life as a homemaker for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles on January 19, 2004. In February of 2005, she began to make her home at Chrisoma West – Independent Living. She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, where she taught Sunday school for several years. Bernice also enjoyed many friendship bonds that were formed though the years in several extension clubs at Loomis. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her baked goods, her enjoyment of fishing and reading, and the special attention that she loved to give to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. She had a special way of relating to other people, loved to help others and devoted her life to serving Christ. Besides her husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Gerald Bremer and his wife, Bertha and Ralph Bremer and his wife, Ede; sisters: Lucille Bremer and Marie Meier and her husband, Arnold; sisters-in-law: Altha Regelin, Marie Hansel and her husband, Art, Lourena Holste and her husband, Alvin and Dorothy I. Johnson and her husband, Harold P. Johnson. Bernice leaves to mourn her passing: children: Gary Regelin and his wife, Marsha of Loomis, Wayne Regelin and his wife, Lou of Juneau, Alaska, Janice Lind of Elm Creek, Nebraska, James Regelin and his wife, Judy of Holdrege and Jeanie Bajaber of Holdrege; grandchildren: Cheryl Orcutt and her husband, Pat, Brian Regelin and his wife, Trisha, Amy Chatlos and her husband, Jeff, Jeff Regelin and his wife, Katie, Jared Regelin and his wife, Carrie, Shane Regelin and his wife, Meggan, Meachelle Nichols and her husband, Keith, Lori Stolp and her husband, Dave, Zach Bajaber, and Halah Bajaber and her husband, Mark Melichar; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
