Description	:	ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Bernice F. "Babs" Hadenfeldt, 69, of Albuquerque, N.M., died Monday, May 22, 2006, at St. Francis Skilled Care in Grand Island. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul, with the Rev. Mark Middendorf officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery in Scotia. A time to greet the family will be held from 10:15 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hadenfeldt was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Greeley County, to Lynn and Della (Gebauer) Vance. Bernice was baptized in the Methodist Faith. Bernice attended rural School District No. 30, east of Scotia. She then attended Scotia High School, where she graduated in 1954. Bernice then moved to Grand Island where she worked. In 1955, she was united in marriage to Charles Sallinger 1955 in Illinois. To this union three children were born, Kim, Jan and Scott. On Dec. 31, 1968, Bernice was united in marriage to Glen Hadenfeldt in Grand Island. The couple lived in Grand Island, Fort Collins, Colo., Fullerton and then moved to Albuquerque, N.M., in 1981. Bernice was employed by the State of New Mexico and also as a dental assistant. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, traveling, and birds. Bernice was a generous lady who was very close to her family, she loved music and played the piano and also wrote poetry. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband, Glen of Albuquerque; three sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Sabrina Sallinger of Las Vegas, Mark and Susan Hadenfeldt of Petaluma, Calif., and Eric and Shari Hadenfeldt of Lincoln; three daughters and a son-in-law, Kim Sallinger of Grand Island, Jan Sallinger of Bayfield, Colo., and Vickie and Steve Rasmussen of Grand Island; 11 grandchildren; her mother, Della Vance of Grand Island; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bonnie Steffen of Scotia and Betty and Ron Luth of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Lynn Vance and her grandparents. Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church in Scotia or to the donor's choice.
