Bernice Hazel Klemm was born December 29, 1928 in Brandt, SD the daughter of John and Ida (Zoellner) Klemm. Bernice attended Norman Grade School and Clear Lake High School. She worked as a secretary for several different businesses including the International Harvester and the VA Hospital where she retired from. She entered the Good Samaritan Home in 2008, bringing along with her, her beloved white and gray cat, Fritz, who was her constant companion for many years. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and loved sharing her love for her God Jehovah and bible truths with others. Bernice was united in marriage to William Seward on March 20, 1970. Bernice always had a deep love for animals. She especially loved her toy poodles, most of which were named Tulip, had bows in their hair and nails painted. Bernice had many hobbies including gardening, bowling and listening to and playing classical music on her piano. She always enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. A few of her favorite vacations were a trip to Mexico years ago and more recent to Disney World in 1991 and a Carnival Cruise to Jamaica and the Cayman Islands with her sister and niece’s family. Bernice loved her family and was always there to support and help them when needed in any way possible. She always enjoyed family gatherings spending time with those she loved. She is survived by her two sisters, Deloris Schmahl and Phyllis Thompson and many nieces and nephews. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ida; her husband, William Seward; three brothers, Harry, Robert and Curtis; one sister, Verna Kanz and several nieces and nephews. - Rude's Funeral Home
