Bernice was born to Henry and Ella (Heckenlaible) Preheim on July 4, 1926 on the family farm 4½ miles southeast of Freeman. She was the oldest of three siblings. She attended school at District #93 and went on to graduate from Freeman Academy in 1944. She was baptized by Willard Claassen on November 23, 1941 at Salem Mennonite Church, where she remained a faithful member the rest of her life. Even before she was a teenager, Bernice met the man who would anchor the remainder of her life, Glendon Kramer. The two met in Bible school and, in the years that followed, Glen courted her. They were married on June 14, 1946 at Salem Mennonite Church. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, younger siblings Calvin Preheim and Verona Rock; brothers- and sisters–in law Robert Rock, Relda and Henry Muller, Willard and Kathryn Kramer and Elsie Kramer; and son-in-law Kirk Preheim. Bernice is survived by her children: Wallace and LaRuth Kramer, Freeman; Anita Preheim, Canton, S.D.; Marlene and Lynn Flaming, North Platte, Neb.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Tara and Todd Wiebe (Grant and Jane), Denver, Colo.; Jarrod Kramer (Genevieve and Joseph), Freeman; Kelley and Matt Hasenauer (Allynne and Connor), North Platte; Chris and Korene Flaming (Kyler and Kendyl), Elsie, Neb.; Anton and April Preheim, New Hope, Minn.; Stacey and Jeremy Waltner (Ella and Oliver), Freeman; Dustin and Stephanie Preheim (Hannah, Austin and Leah), Sioux Falls, S.D.; Erin and Gregg Argall (Fletcher), Atlanta, Ga; Karen and Brett Runge (Gavin, Dominic and Lucas), Wessington, S.D.; and Craig and Brittany Flaming (Kenley and Cora), Randolph, Neb.
