Description	:	Bernice P. (Fuks) Cwach, age 90, of Yankton, S.D., entered into heaven on Friday, September 14, 2012. Bernice was born on the family farm between Utica and Tabor, S.D. to Joseph & Alphia (Kralicek) Fuks on May 8, 1922. She was the oldest of three girls. Bernice attended Peterka District 46 Grade School until 8th grade, and then she stayed home to help on the farm. She married Melvin Cwach, a farmer, on January 15, 1942, and they had three children together. (Fuks) Cwach, age 90, of Yankton, S.D., entered into heaven on Friday, September 14, 2012. Bernice was born on the family farm between Utica and Tabor, S.D. to Joseph & Alphia (Kralicek) Fuks on May 8, 1922. She was the oldest of three girls. Bernice attended Peterka District 46 Grade School until 8th grade, and then she stayed home to help on the farm. She married Melvin Cwach, a farmer, on January 15, 1942, and they had three children together. After Melvin's return from World War II, the couple enjoyed many years of farming until moving into town in 1974. Bernice loved her family above all things, and also enjoyed gardening, traveling, baking and playing cards. She worked at Gurney's Seed & Nursery part-time in the early 1970's, and at Cimpl's from 1976 to 1988. She made many friends in both places. Bernice also thoroughly enjoyed baking biscuits and visiting with early morning customers when she began working at Hardee's in the late 1980s. Melvin died in 1983. Bernice met and married George Mueller on February 14, 1988. They enjoyed their years together, making many bus trips from coast to coast until George's death in 1996. Bernice always looked forward to her biweekly visits to the Yankton Senior Citizens Center to play pinochle. She was famous for her kolaches, and wouldn't be found at any gathering without them or her dumplings or crazy crunch popcorn. Bernice was a feisty lady and enjoyed life and the companionship of her family and many friends. She was very proud of the fact that she lived independently her entire life. Bernice was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and later St. Benedict Parish. She served as a member of the Sacred Heart/St. Benedicts Ladies Altar Society and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Melvin and George, son, Roger Cwach, grandson, Jerry Cwach, sister, Velma Sorenson and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. Bernice had a kind and giving heart and will always be remembered and cherished. She leaves behind her son, Darrell Cwach and wife Mary Kay, her daughter, Lynette Hansen and husband Steve, all of Yankton, S.D., 10 grandchildren with their spouses, 29 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, sister Nadean Auch, sisters-in-law, Lenora Law and Linda Mueller, brothers-in-law, Marvin Gall and Ed Cwach, godfather to all of Bernice and Melvin's children, along with several nieces and nephews.
