Born April 10, 1940 in Brookville, Indiana she was one of eleven children born to the late Aloys & Eva (Schebler) Nobbe. On May 9, 1959, she and the former Donald E. Burkhart were united in marriage, and he preceded her in death on October 3, 2021. Read More	Bernice Ruth Nobbe Burkhart Bernice Ruth Burkhart, age 81 of Avon, Indiana died Tuesday February 15, 2022 at Life's Journey of Avon. Born April 10, 1940 in Brookville, Indiana she was one of eleven children born to the late Aloys & Eva (Schebler) Nobbe. On May 9, 1959, she and the former Donald E. Burkhart were united in marriage, and he preceded her in death on October 3, 2021. Bernice was employed at St. Mary's Catholic School in Rushville, Indiana for many years in food service and as a preschool teacher. She and Donald moved to Avon, Indiana after Donald's retirement from St. Mary's School. Bernice continued her work in education with Brownsburg Schools as a special education assistant. She was a member of St. Susanna Catholic Church in Plainfield. Survivors include five children, ...; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two sisters, ...; four brothers, ...; as well as many nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Smith, Marilyn Poe, and Sylvia Rosenberger; and one brother, Virgil 'Butch' Nobbe. Rev. Vincent Lampert will officiate the private Catholic Funeral Rite on Monday, February 21, 2022. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic School in Rushville.
