Description	:	Bernice Thelma Cutsforth, 87 of Fredericksburg, formerly of Lawler, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton. She was born April 6, 1929, in rural Lawler, daughter of Thron and Bertha Ehret Throndson. She attended country school in rural Lawler until the eighth grade. She married Merlin Cutsforth on July 22, 1946, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reilly Ridge. He preceded her in death. Bernice was a renowned pizza maker in the area. She was born April 6, 1929, in rural Lawler, daughter of Thron and Bertha Ehret Throndson. She attended country school in rural Lawler until the eighth grade. She married Merlin Cutsforth on July 22, 1946, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reilly Ridge. He preceded her in death. Bernice was a renowned pizza maker in the area. She worked at Grove’s, Straw’s and Kolby’s in New Hampton; and Cutsforth’s and Pronto in Lawler. All together Bernice had more than 40 years of experience cooking pizzas in Northeast Iowa. Survived by: two sons, Ben (Laurie) and Len (Sue), both of Lawler; eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ardis King of Fredericksburg and Helen (Jack) Whalen of Lawler; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Harlan Throndson of Lawler. Preceded in death by: her parents; two daughters, Marlys Rewoldt, and Carol in infancy; and four brothers, Clarence, Irvin, Harlan and Robert Throndson. Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Lawler, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Sept. 15, and for an hour before services Friday, both at the church. Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
