For 32 years she served her many,... Read More	Berniece Thora Hoffman, age 93, the daughter of Percy Edward and Minnie Ethel (Bennett) Craig, was born August 23, 1926, in Davis City, Iowa. She left this life on February 18, 2020, at the Clearview Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa. Berniece grew up and attended school in Davis City. She graduated from Davis City High School in 1944. Following school she worked at the local telephone office and the café. Later she went to beauty school in Des Moines, Iowa. After completion she opened her own beauty shop in Lamoni, Iowa. For 32 years she served her many, many loyal clients. On April 15, 1951, she married John Rex “Tyke” Hoffman in Albany, Missouri. They became parents to children, Megan, John, Rod, and John, and Mike, and were a great influence in their lives. Berniece loved to dance and cook. She always offered a meal or food to everyone who visited. She was a kind, loving, and open-hearted person. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Tyke on February 7, 2003; and siblings, Helen Gilliland, Basil Craig, Willard Craig, Emmett Craig, John Craig, Neil Craig, and infants, Cletus and Roe Craig. Survivors include her children, Megan McLauglin, John and Dorie Shiltz, Rod Bramble and Heidi, and John and Lesa Darrah; grandchildren, Cayden Shiltz, Chase Shiltz, Aaron Darrah and fiancé, Kelsey, Tucker Darrah, BayLee Darrah, Alexis Darrah, and Bobby Baker; great granddaughter, Cambree Darrah; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
