Mr. Mace was an employe of John Morrell & Co. for 43 years. He was employed in the general offices, IBM department at the time of his retirement in 1956. Mace, 69, of 408 Osceola street, died at 1 a.m. today at the Ottumwa hospital after a short illness. Mr. Mace was an employe of John Morrell & Co. for 43 years. He was employed in the general offices, IBM department at the time of his retirement in 1956. He was born in Agency, May 6, 1891, the son of Marseles and Minnie King Mace. He had been a resident of Ottumwa and vicinity all of his life. Mr. Mace was a member of the Church of the Brethren and of Formal lodge No. 44, A.F. & A.M. at Kirkville. Survivors include his wife, Blanche; a son, Edwin Mace of Ottumwa; two daughters, Mrs. Donna Phillips and Mrs. Betty Harland, both of Ottumwa; three stepsons, Bob Moss of Ottumwa, Otis L. Slye of Seattle, Wash. and Loren E. Slye of Medford, Ore.; three step-daughters, Mrs Mary Wagner of Garrison, Iowa; Mrs. Genevieve Culbertson of Tipton, and Mrs. Velma Songer of Ottumwa; and two brothers, Glen Mace and Dan Mace, both of Ottumwa. His first wife, Bethany, died July 5, 1956.
