He was born Jan. 28, 1903, in Agency to Marcellus and Minnie King Mace. He had been an employee of John Morrell & Co., retiring in 1962 because of ill health. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church. He married Margaret Jones Dec. 23, 1921, in Ottumwa. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Donald Eugene Mace of Ottumwa; one granddaughter and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. The service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Reece Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Faust of the First Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Shaul Cemetery. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service.
