Roger Voskuil Military Rites: American Legion Veterans of Foreign Wars Bert was the son Gerrit and Tryntje (Reitsma) Regnerus. He was raised in the Hull and Doon areas and served in the Army Air force during World War II. On July 21, 1944, he married Plonia Holtrop at Dakota City, Nebraska. They made there home in Sioux Center, where he operated Sioux Radiator and Brake Service until 1957. He then established B. & B. Salvage, where he was still going to work every day. Plonia passed away December 1955 in Sioux City, IA. On August 2, 1996, he married Matilda Feekes Moss at Valley Springes, South Dakota. They also made their home in Sioux Center. Mr. Regnerus was a member of the First Reformed Church. In earlier years, he served on the consistory of the First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. He belonged to the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid racing fan, who sponsored stock cars in area races for over thirty years. He also enjoyed antique automobiles. Survivors include his wife: three sons, Gary Regnerus and his wife, Carol, of Orange City: and Ed Regnerus, and Frank Regnerus and his wife, Laura, all of Sioux Center: six step-daughters and their husbands, Rachel and Virgil Potter of Larchwood: Trudy and Jim Vanderburg of Valley Springs: Nancy and Jay Popejoy of Virginia Beach, Virginia: Donna and Steve Weiss of Andover, Minnesota: Wanda and Kurt Heiser of Buffalo, Wyoming; and Bonnie and Charlie Markquard of Pullaylap, Washington: nine grandchildren, Steve Regnerus and his wife, Stephanie: Jay Regnerus and his wife, Carissa: Amy and her hushand, Mike Coghlan: Chris and her husband, Greg Van Beek; Tricia and her husband, Harv Sandhulte: Michelle and her husband, Bob Pomrenke: Angela and her husband, Aaron Bahnsen; Nathan Regnerus: and Justin Regnerus: fifteen step-grandchildren, fifteen great- grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren: a sister and her husband, Mabel and Gilbert Wallenburg of Lakewood, California: and two brothers and their wives, Clarence and Jeanette Regnerus of Ripon, California: and Menzo and Dorothy Regnerus of Valley City, North Dakota. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a daugher-in law , Astrid Regnerus: and a sister, Pearl Van Regenmorter.
