Description	:	Bert Shaver, 89, a resident of the Good Samaritan home in Mohall, died on Wednesday, May 16th at the Renville-Bottineau Memorial Hospital. His funeral was Saturday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Faith Baptist Church of Kenmare. Burial followed in the Rosehill Cemetery, Stafford Township. Officiating for the service was Pastor Stan Hockett. Active casketbearers included Wesley Johnson, Warren Duerre, Wallace Duerre, William Boyce, Richard Johnson, and Morris Erickson. Organist was Pearl Nelson and soloist was Paul Schroeder. Thompson-Larson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Bert Shaver was born on February 13, 1901 at New Rockford, North Dakota, a son of Jacob and Levina (Wert) Shaver. He later moved with his parents to the family homestead, located in Renville County, where he was reared and educated as a child. He married the former Eva Emmel, September 14, 1933, and they lived and farmed in Stafford Township, Renville County, before moving to Kenmare in 1949. He then worked for Geiger Brothers Oil Company as a machinery and car salesman until his retirement in 1959. The couple then moved to the Good Samaritan Home in Mohall in 1981. He was a member of the Stafford Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Eva of Kenmare; brother Oden Shaver of Longview, Wash.; sisters, Altha (Alfred) Mott of Kelso, Wash., Lola Duerre of Kenmare, Ruth Johnson of Sherwood, and Luella Arnold of Carnduff, Sask., and many nieces and nephews.
