CENTER Mrs. Bertha Tiedemann, age 96, of Scribner, passed away Wednesday evening, Apr. 7, at the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner following a year of failing health. CENTER Mrs. Bertha Tiedemann, age 96, of Scribner, passed away Wednesday evening, Apr. 7, at the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner following a year of failing health. Born in Province Hanover, Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Behrens, she came to America in 1899 living in New York City until 1909 at which time she moved to Nebraska where she and her husband farmed in Dodge county. They retired into Hooper in 1931 and she continued living there until 1975 when she moved to Uehling where she made her home with her daughter until 1977 at which time she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Hooper and the Ladies’ Aid of the church. She was united in marriage to Charles Tiedemann at New York City on June 25, 1905. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1942. Also preceding her in death were her parents, five sisters and two brothers. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Helen Hilbers of Uehling; four grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and several neices and nephews. Funeral services were held on Saturday morning at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Hooper, Pastor Joe Marek officiating. Interment was made in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery with the services under the direction of Warne Funeral Home of Hooper. Music was provided by Mrs. Delbert Moeller, organist, with a quartette composed of Barbara Muller, Helen Langemeier, Duane Muller and Pastor Marek. Pallbearers were Wm. Hargens, Gary Hilbers, Ken Hilbers, Calvin Mallette, Herman Popken and Bernhard Schole.
