Description	:	Bertha Moss, 93, of Sioux Center, Iowa died Wednesday morning, January 21, at the Sioux Center Community Nursing Facility. A memorial service was held Saturday, January 24, at 11am in the Chapel of First Reformed Church. Rev. Roger Voskuil officiated. Interment was held prior to the memorial service in Hope Cemetery of Hull, Iowa. A family prayer service was held Saturday morning at 9:30am at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. Read More	Bertha Moss, 93, of Sioux Center, Iowa died Wednesday morning, January 21, at the Sioux Center Community Nursing Facility. Bertha Moss was born on May 18, 1910 near Hull, the daughter of Gerrit and Alice De Leeuw. She attended a country school northeast of Hull, near her parent's farm. She married Cornie Moss on September 29, 1933. She assisted him in their housemoving and trucking business until his accidental death on April 5; 1949. She was Secretary at the Hull Public School and Boyden-Hull Community School for 25 years. After retirement she moved to Sioux Center to live closer to her daughters. She enjoyed sewing, baking, quilting, and visiting with friends. Survivors include three daughters and their husbands: Harriet and Ed Boote, Vine and Arlin Van Roekel of Sioux Center, and Edna and David Mast of Colorado Springs, CO; six grandchildren: Lila Hawkins, Denice Boote, Jon Van Roekel, Sara Shepherd, Gina Smits, and Rachel Finch; ten great grand-children: Chris, Erin, and Kelli Hawkins, Luke, Joe, and Michelle Van Roekel, John, Jared and Jillian Smits, and Asher Finch; one sister- inlaw, Mrs. Henry De Leeuw; and one brother-inlaw, Dr. G.C. Vande Garde. In addition to her husband, Bertha was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers: Ann Gritters, Harriet Hallmark, Alice Lunstra, Goldie De Boer, and Marty Vande Garde, Ben, Gerrit, and Henry De Leeuw.
