Read More	According to her death record, her parents' surnames were: Mumberger and Widdersheim From Nevada Evening Journal May 25, 1934 (page 5) Reitz Funeral was Held Thursday at Lutheran Church Funeral services for Mrs. William Reitz, 73, who died at her home 1220 K avenue Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at Memorial Lutheran church, with her pastor Dr. J. O. Simon in charge. The interment service was in charge of the pastor, assisted by the ritualistic service of the Rebekah order, of which she had been a member for many years. Born Elizabeth Numberger at Rodhiam, Germany, September 23, 1857, she had at the time of her death reached the age of 76 years, 7 months and 29 days. Her mother died when she was four years of age. At the age of 16 years she came to America with an uncle and the family settled at Johnstown, Pa. She was united in marriage to Wm. Reitz, October 14, 1877 at Akron, Ohio. It was here these newly weds set up housekeeping. After living in Akron, O., for a number year they removed to Marshall county, Iowa, near Marshalltown. Later they removed to Story county, Iowa, in 1896, settling on a farm south of Nevada where they lived until 1915. After spending over a year in travel, they came to Nevada where they have lived ever since. To this union were born seven children, one passing away in infancy. Six children are living, four boys and two girls. There are left to mourn their loss, her husband, Wm. Reitz and the sons, Wm. C., Ellendale, North Dakota; Harry J. of Wilbaux, Montana, Clarence G. of Riverton, Wyoming and Elmore L. at home. The daughters, Mrs. Fred Coker, Peoria, Ill., and Mrs. Newton H. Frey, Nevada. There are also seven grandchildren and two great grand children. Mrs. Reitz was born and reared in the Lutheran Faith. She has been a life long member of the Lutheran church, having joined the Lutheran church by rite of confirmation in Germany when a girl fourteen years of age. For a long number of years she has been a faithful member of Memorial Lutheran church, Nevada, Iowa. Mrs. Reitz was also a member of the Rebekahs which organization had a part in the committal services. Her pastor said: "A faithful, Godly woman is taken to her Heavenly home. She has lived well. She has lived for her home and loved ones. A well spent life comes to a close. She has gone to take her place in those Mansions on high--that have been prepared to be the home of the true and faithful. May God's abundant blessing be meted out to you, who mourn this day, the passing of a true and loving wife and mother."
