FINAL RITES FOR BERTHA McKNABB HELD TUESDAY Dies Sunday in Denison Hospital Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 3, 1965 at 2:00 p.m. at the Barrett Funeral Home in Dunlap for Mrs. Bertha E. McKnabb, who died at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison early Sunday, August 1, after suffering a lingering illness. Rev. Harley E. Laflin officiated at the services with interment in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Cliff Smith, Melvin Malone, Noel DeLance and Elwain Delance, LaVerne Wright and Moses Miles. Music was furnished by Mrs. Fred Clements and Mrs. Cliff Miles accompanied by Connie Leaders at the piano. The arrangements were in the charge of the Barrett Funeral Home. Bertha Elsie McKnabb, daughter of John and Charlotte Brundidge, was born July 27, 1889 at Kenwood, Iowa, one of six children and died at the age of 76 years and 5 days. June 30, 1909, she was united in marriage to Daniel H. Kline and to this union 9 children were born. Daniel Kline died February 18, 1950. In the year of 1952, she was married to O. C. McKnabb. Mrs. McKnabb was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Daniel Kline and O. C. McKnabb, one brother, one sister, and two sons, Orris and Carl. She is survived by: three daughters, Sadie (Mrs. Tony Zimmerman) of Earling, Helen (Mrs. Solon Christianson) of Dow City, and Lola (Mrs. Roy Arp) of San Diego, California; four sons, Herbert and Bennie Kline, both of Dunlap, Donald Kline of Schleswig and Harvey Kline of Council Bluffs; three sisters, Myrtle McIntosh of Fort Dodge, Joyce Pace of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Mark Powell of Dunlap; two step-daughters, Mrs. Pearl Truitt of Dunlap and Mrs. Edith Mulligan of Denison; two step-sons, Clarence McKnabb of Shelby and George McKnabb of Harlan; thirty grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. McKnabb was a member of the First Congregational Church of Dunlap. Published in The Dunlap Reporter (Dunlap, Iowa) on Thursday, August 5, 1965.
