Mrs. Losen died Thursday, June 7, at her home at 605 Decorah Avenue following an eight-month illness. The Steine Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Survivors include the following children: Philip who is serving in the Philippines with the Navy, alden of Eugene, Ore., Mrs. Russel (Frances) Lowell of San Diego, Calif. and William Howard of Decorah. A daughter Alice Jean died in infancy. Mr. Losen passed away in 1933. Three grandchildren and three sisters also survive; Mrs. Cecilia Woldum, Mrs. Ida Arness and Mrs. Helga Rogen and a brother Carl, all of Decorah. Bertha Teslow was born December 15, 1898, in Glenwood Township, the daughter of the late Hans and Syneva Teslow. She resided in Decorah the past 35 years. Mrs. Losen wad educated in rural schools and attended Valders College. She married Philip Losen September 8, 1920, in Decorah. She had been employed at Woodward's in Decorah for the past 15 years. Mrs. Losen was commander of the D.A.V. at the time of her death and was past president of the V F W Auxiliary and a member of the Legion Auxiliary. She belonged to First Lutheran Church.
