Description	:	Hastings resident Bertha K. (Ostdiek) Lemke, 100, of Good Samaritan Village Perkins Pavilion died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at Perkins. Rosary is 7:30 p.m. Friday at Butler-Volland Funeral Home chapel in Hastings and services are 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hastings with the Revs. Michael Houlihan and Gilbert Ostdiek officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery south of Lawrence. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Merten-Butler Mortuary of Blue Hill is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lemke was born Oct. 27, 1900, to Frank and Anna (Brockman) Ostdiek in Lawrence. On April 21, 1920, she married John G. Lemke at St. Stephen's Catholic Church south of Lawrence. He died Dec. 26, 1970. She lived in Lawrence until moving to Hastings five years ago. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary, all of Lawrence. She also was a member of the Legion of Mary. Survivors are one son, Jack of Lawrence; two daughters, Norma A. Skalka and Lorene Friend, both of Hastings; 25 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Vernon and Arnold; four brothers; four sisters; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be given to the family's choice.
