Mrs. Petersen died March 7, at Anamosa Community hospital. She was born May 15, 1889, in Struble, Germany, the daughter of Peter and Marie Johansen Reese. At the age of 19 she came to the United States and settled in Illinois. She was employed there for several years. On Jan 31, 1917, she married John M. Petersen, near Wyoming. They farmed in Jones County until 1947, when they retired. Mrs. Petersen was a member of Eastern Star, Wyoming American Legion Auxiliary and Zion American Lutheran church. She is survived by her husband: four children, Mrs. Velma Cruise of Olin; John (Heinie) Petersen of Wyoming, Mrs. Erma Beppler of Nekoosa, Wis. and Robert D. Petersen of Olin; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one brother William Reese of Olin. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, four sisters, five brothers and a grandchild.
